Traditional Chinese Medicine attributes premature aging as being due to congenital essence being used up while the ability to supply acquired essence declines. The two essences are what make up human vitality. We inherit a fixed amount of congenital essence from our parents and obtain acquired essence constantly from ingested foods and fluids. They are stored in the kidneys and form the material basis for all kinds of functional activities. When kidney essence is exhausted, our physiological activities will stop and one's natural life span soon ends. Stress and other factors are major contributors to the essence being prematurely exhausted, and essence deficiency will manifest in the premature signs of aging.

Stress
Chinese Medicine plays a very important role in how a person looks from an aging point of view. Utilizing classical An Mo therapeutic massage, very soothing and relaxing massage of the facial and neck muscles and tissues is given to promote the circulation of Qi and Blood as well as to treat the skin problems caused by stress and internal ailments. Results include a younger-looking skin, a healthy complexion, natural lifting of the face, as well as a diminishing of age spots and wrinkles. A pearl-based cream is used, and this leaves the skin feeling young, moist, and smooth.

Step 2b - Addressing the Premature Aging Symptoms with Acupuncture
